Way easier to eat than a full caramel apple! (Plus this way you can try so many more toppings!) Make ahead – or set up as a caramel apple bar for your guests to have fun creating their own delectable treats.
Ingredients:
- 2 Apples, cored and sliced into 8 pieces each
- 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 10 oz Soft Caramel Candies
- 2/3 Cup Chocolate Chips
- 1 tsp Coconut Oil or Vegetable Shortening
- Topping of Your Choosing – Chopped Nuts, Crushed Cookies, Sprinkles, Chopped Pretzels, Coconut Flakes, Flaky Sea Salt
- 16 Bamboo Skewers

Place Apple Slices and Lemon Juice in bowl, cover with water and let sit for 5 minutes. Remove Apples and pat them dry with paper towels.

Place Caramels and 1 tsp water in a small bowl and microwave on high until melted, about 60 seconds. Mix until smooth.

Place Chocolate Chips and Oil or Shortening in a small bowl and microwave on high until melted, about 60 seconds. Mix until smooth.

Place skewers into each apple slice and dip into Caramel or Chocolate. Place onto parchment or wax paper and sprinkle on the toppings while wet.

Refrigerate until toppings set, about 10 minutes.
