Hasselback Sweet Potatoes

An elevated take on traditional Holiday yams or sweet potatoes, these look so impressive, but are quite simple to make.

Ingredients:

Optional – finish with a drizzle of Maple Syrup for a little extra sweetness

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.

  2. Starting at least 1/2” from the end, make slices 1/4” apart most of the way through each potato. (Use chopsticks placed on either side of the potato to keep from cutting all the trough)

  3. Place potatoes on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

  4. Whisk together Butter, Oil and Spices in a bowl. Brush half of the mixture over all of the potatoes. Spread apart the slices to ensure the sauce gets in-between the pieces.

  5. Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Brush remaining sauce over the potatoes and bake uncovered for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until tender.

  6. Once potatoes are cooked through, sprinkle on chopped pecans and drizzle with Maple Syrup (if using) – serve warm.
